Hi, my name is Karen Rissling and I am a 7th grade teacher in El Paso, TX. I have 3 years of experience and am going into my 4th year. I love teaching and actually speak fairly fluent Spanish as I lived in different parts of South America for 6 months at a time. My students now are 99 percent Mexican American and most have learned English as a second language. I do have my certificate to teach ESL as that was a requirement for my district, but in many ways I clarify concepts for students daily in my class. I am interested in teaching in Mexico for a year. I also have my masters degree from the University of Texas EL Paso as an Instructional Specialist with a concentration in English. Is there a way that I could be placed in a language institute of some kind even though I already have my certification? Any advice for someone like me that already has the qualifications, education, and experience to work in Mexico? Any options you could suggest?
Thanks for your time,
Sincerely
Karen Rissling
